The Mavromatis Institute | Mi proudly announces its pivotal role in supporting the Milonga Tango Party Carnaval Edition 2026, a charitable celebration of dance, culture, and community solidarity, hosted at the historic “Manolis Anagnostakis” Hall in Thessaloniki’s City Hall on February 18, 2026.
The Institute’s involvement elevated the event beyond a festive dance gathering, infusing it with academic rigor, social responsibility, and interdisciplinary insight. By applying its expertise in embodied cognition, human experience, and collective creativity, the Institute enhanced the event’s ability to connect participants, foster community cohesion, and generate measurable social impact.
This year’s Milonga is dedicated to supporting Syzoi, an organization assisting individuals with visual and additional disabilities. Through its partnership with the Municipality of Thessaloniki, the Region of Central Macedonia, the Carnival Thessaloniki Cultural Association, and private contributors like Classic Mikro Cafe, Mavromatis Institute | Mi has helped transform a cultural celebration into an engine of charitable engagement and human solidarity.
“By bridging research, culture, and social responsibility, we demonstrate how knowledge can create tangible positive impact in the local community,” said a representative of Mavromatis Institute | Mi. “Tango is not only an art form but a vehicle for empathy, collaboration, and inclusion.”
The Milonga Tango Party Carnaval Edition 2026 promises dance, rhythm, and joy with a purpose. Admission is free, with voluntary contributions welcomed to support Syzoi’s vital mission.
