A research framework developed at the Laboratory for Embodied Research and the Human Condition, Mavromatis Institute | Mi, Toronto. It maps Gestalt principles onto tango behavioral indices, making the dance partnership a model for how humans communicate, trust, and co-create under uncertainty. Informs workshops, academic papers, and collaborates with Tango Secrets brand.

This white paper introduces the Gestaltango Framework (GEF) and its overarching theoretical architecture, the Mavromatis Perceptual Music Architecture (PMA): a principled, multi-layer compositional and perceptual design system that applies the perceptual laws of Gestalt psychology, the therapeutic principles of Gestalt Therapy (GT), and the embodied phenomenology of Merleau-Ponty to musical composition, visual design, and typographic presentation. The PMA constitutes, to the author's knowledge, the first systematic framework to translate both Gestalt perceptual laws and GT cycles into pre-compositional design decisions at the level of individual musical parameters.
